Its been almost 3 months since I've sent an email so here's a recap.
In the past 3 months
Baptized nat nat:
We got the opportunity to teach and baptize a young girl named Natalie. She was so fun to teach. She comprehended the things we taught her better than any kid I've ever seen.
Evacuated:
Hurricane Helene hit the south so all the missionaries in the entire mission were forced to evacuate to the farthest west part of the mission. All elders in 1 church building. And all sisters in another. That was fun. Companionship study consisted of pick up basketball games and sleeping in the chapel. However, I feel bad for the actual ward that was in our building. The aftermath of 100 elders and 1 shower (the baptismal font) couldn't have been pretty.
Back to duo:
I'm no longer in a trio but I'm still with Elder Bailey. We came to this area together and when we got here we were a little surprised. The area was rough-er. Just messy and unprofessional missionary work in the past. So the past few months has been trying to fix the area, which I feel like we have done well.
Hurricane clean up:
The Hurricane was supposed to hit our area directly but thankfully, last minute shifted away. However, it still hit other areas. So we had the chance to do Hurricane clean up for a few weekends. It was nice having a break from the norm to go do manuel labor instead. Even if it meant dressing in a bright yellow “helping hands” shirts that you can see from outerspace. (Pictures below)
Temple:
We finally had the chance to go see the temple last Tuesday.
Miller girls:
Last Saturday, 2 girls we have been teaching, Analyn & Makenzie, were baptized. It's been the best to watch them progress and just open up to us more. I'm very proud of the effort and willingness they put forward to get where they are. It was a great baptism. However, we did not leave enough time for the font's water to heat up so we almost sent Analyn into shock. Hand up ️. That's on us.
1 year:
I hit my 1 year mark on the 12th or 13th. One of those idk. It has been an interesting year. I'm grateful for this time though because of the chance I have had to REALLY learn about this gospel and see how much it really does bless anyone who opens themselves up to it. As well as those who don't. God notices each one of us and sees when we put forward effort.
That's all I have for now so. Next email in a few months probably.
