Transferred

Been like 2 months but here's the email.

- I got transferred out of alma after a few years. Alma was a struggle but I enjoyed the time there overall. That was the best district thus far. And I love those members. Should have seen them after my dear sweet Trump dodged bullets.

- Currently in Bainbridge Georgia in a trio. I've loved being in trio so far.
But we are all 6’3+ and I'm already sick of the height jokes. People are abusing them worse than Adrian Peterson.

- Back to teaching pretty regularly now and I'm glad. Just gotta shake that rust off.

Glad to see my Steelers are still a dumpster fire though. ðŸ”¥

District Council - Adjusting to Missionary Life

 Adjusting to Missionary Life

Last Sunday in Sunday school we studied Alma 36 where Alma is giving advice to his sons. He teaches about the JOY repentance can bring.

We know from verses 12-14 that Alma was RACKED with guilt and couldn’t forget his past sins.

He was racked with eternal torment.

He did remember all (his) sins and iniquities that the very thought of coming into the presence of my God did rack (his) soul with inexpressible horror.

As Alma struggled with forgiveness- even wanting to be banish to a far away place, he then remembered the atonement of his savior.

17 And it came to pass that as I was thus racked with torment, while I was harrowed up by the memory of my many sins, behold, I remembered also to have heard my father prophesy unto the people concerning the coming of one Jesus Christ, a Son of God, to atone for the sins of the world.

I think all of us can feel overwhelmed with our callings right now. Feelings of being inadequate or even unworthy can creep in.

We are not perfect. We will always fall short and have things to repent of.

There is NO place for shame in the gospel of Jesus Christ.

As Alma taught Repentance is the plan of happiness for every person.

18 Now, as my mind caught hold upon this thought, I cried within my heart: O Jesus, thou Son of God, have mercy on me, who am in the gall of bitterness, and am encircled about by the everlasting chains of death.

19 And now, behold, when I thought this, I could remember my pains no more; yea, I was harrowed up by the memory of my sins no more.

20 And oh, what joy, and what marvelous light I did behold; yea, my soul was filled with joy as exceeding as was my pain!

21 Yea, I say unto you, my son, that there could be nothing so exquisite and so bitter as were my pains. Yea, and again I say unto you, my son, that on the other hand, there can be nothing so exquisite and sweet as was my joy.

In adjusting to missionary life we are encouraged to recognize the power of the atonement.

It says:

  • “If you have repented and still feel guilt and shame, remember we all regret past sins and mistakes. Trust that Christ's Atonement is sufficient, even for you.”

Testimony:

I testify that this is true!

Hurricane Update

 Dear Parents,

I wanted to provide you with a brief update on our missionaries regarding Hurricane Debbie.  First and foremost, all of our missionaries are safe and well.  Some have been temporarily relocated to safer areas within the mission, but they continue their work with the same dedication and faith as always.

Some areas within our mission are still without power, and we are making regular assessments to ensure that our Elders and Sisters can return to their areas only when conditions are fully safe.  Your sons and daughters have shown incredible resilience and faith during this time, which is a testament to the strong foundations you have laid for them.

Please know that we are watching over them closely and will keep you updated as needed.  Thank you for your prayers and for raising such faithful and strong servants of the Lord.

Ensuring the Safety of Your Missionary

 Dear Parents,

I hope this message finds you well.  I am writing to inform you that we are closely monitoring the development of a hurricane that is expected to affect our mission area.  In an abundance of caution, we are taking all necessary steps to ensure the safety and well-being of your missionary.

We are in regular communication with local authorities and Church leadership, and we are prepared to implement our emergency plans as necessary.  This may include relocating missionaries to safer areas or taking other protective measures.  Every decision we make is done prayerfully and with the guidance of the spirit, knowing that the Lord protects and guides the lives of His servants.

Please rest assured that your missionary's safety is our top priority.  We have instructed them on how to prepare and what actions to take if conditions worsen.  Additionally we are ensuring that all missionaries have access to the necessary supplies and information to stay secure during this time.

We know that the Lord watches over His missionaries and will continue to guide and protect them as they serve in His name.  We are confident in His care and trust in His divine protection.

If there are any significant updates or changes to the situation, we will communicate them to you promptly.  In the meantime, please continue to support your missionary with your prayers and faith.

Thank you for your continued trust and support.  Your missionaries are a blessing to the work, and we are committed to watching over them with love, diligence, and an abundance of caution.

With sincere appreciation and faith,
